The Maglio Calvi, located in Comenduno of Albino (BG), is an ancient 17th-century forge, powered by the life force of water, whose furnace and the hypnotic rhythm of the large hydraulic hammer have forged iron, but not just that, for more than 200 years.
The Maglio Calvi represents a unique testimony to the history of hydraulic energy, metallurgy, and work organization. For generations it has been a productive place, but also a space for relationships, transmission of knowledge, and territorial identity.
Today this heritage risks being silenced. The Foundation was born to preserve it and transform it into a place that is once again alive, accessible and capable of generating value.

The restoration project of the Maglio Calvi borns from the idea of a “graft”: to combine the force of the historical memory with new cultural, educational and social functions.
The Maglio will become a place capable to product new energy:
a territorial room open to all ages;
a hands-on learning environment dedicated to schools, technical institutes, and universities;
a space for experiences, training and community:
a reference point for the territory and for visitors.
